LLYN PADARN - Swim Safe Community Open Day
Plas Menai have partnered with Swim Wales, RYA Cymru Wales and Canoe Wales to offer local children between the ages of 7 and 14 years sessions during our COMMUNITY SWIM SAFE day on Thursday 25th July 2024. This will be an introduction to our extensive programme that will be run in our Swim Wales accredited centre over the coming months.
THIS SWIM SAFE DAY WILL TAKE PLACE AT LLYN PADARN. There are three sessions available -
9.30am - 11.30am
12pm - 2.00.pm
2.30pm - 4.30pm
The aim of Swim Safe is to give children the skills to enjoy outdoor swimming safely.
Children love swimming outdoors - but swimming in the sea, rivers and lakes is very different to swimming in a pool. Swim Safe teaches children where it's safe to swim, how to float and what to do if they or someone else get in trouble.
The two hour long sessions are led by trained instructors and held throughout the day. The focus will be on safety in a fun filled environment. Children need to be aged between 7 and 14.
The sessions are run by qualified lifeguards and instructors, and includes:
Water safety advice provided by qualified lifeguards on land.
Up to 60 minutes in-water tuition with qualified instructors.
All the right kit for swimming outdoors (including swimming hats, wetsuits, and swimming aids).
Please arrive 10 minutes before the session start time and be SWIM READY with a costume on. The team will be meeting participants at Y GLYN car park (The Lagoons) adjacent to Snowdonia Watersports on the bank of the lake. Here there are showers and changing facilities along with THE LONE TREE cafe that will be open for the duration for refreshments.
Sun cream and sun hat must be provided by the parent/guardian if needed. Sun cream should be applied and thoroughly rubbed in at least 30 minutes before entering the water.
The Plas Menai team will email you if your session has to be cancelled. If you have any questions, please contact info@plasmenai.wales
