Contrary to popular opinion spinnakers are pretty straightforward and they get easier to handle the more you use them, especially following some time spent on the water with one of our expert instructors.
As with many things the key to using spinnakers lies in preparation - setting up the gear correctly in the first place will result in a more pleasant spinnaker experience.
Over the 2 days we aim to cover the following;
Introduce you to sailing with an asymmetric spinnaker, providing opportunities to both helm and crew.Over the 2 days we aim to cover the following;
Key learning points:
Hoisting, gybing, dropping the spinnaker, the best course downwind and how to recover from a capsize.
Our friendly instructors will be with you every step of the way, offering clear instruction, guidance and encouragement to ensure you really get the most out of your sailing weekend.
Plas Menai will provide all necessary personal protective clothing including wetsuits, waterproofs, buoyancy aids and helmets.
