Proficiency up to Powerboat level 2 standard on coastal waters
Minimum Age
16 yrs
This one-day assessment has been designed to ensure all candidates wishing to complete the RYA Powerboat Instructor course have the powerboat driving skills and experience necessary to undertake the course.
It is important you satisfy yourself that you are at the required standard prior to attending this course.
Candidates must endeavour to attend their instructor training course within 12 months of passing the powerboat skills assessment.

Please note: This assessment is undertaken on tidal/coastal waters
Plas Menai will provide all necessary personal protective clothing including waterproofs, buoyancy aids and helmets.
Please bring with you;
- Suitable warm clothing to wear (under our free to use waterproofs)
- Hat, gloves, sun screen
- Wellies / shoes - that may get wet
- 50p for locker
