The 5 day RYA Wingsufing / Winfoiling Instructor Course
2023 sees the introduction of the RYA Wingsurf / Wingfoil Instructor Course to the programme. This course has been created to prepare new and experienced instructors to introduce the new and exciting world of winging to a larger audience in a safe and progressive manner. The course will combine on water training and assessment of teaching skills, with shore based sessions covering teaching techniques and related theory topics.
Successful students will gain a Wingsurfing Instructor Certificate (2 day course) and a Wingfoiling Instructor Certificate (a further two days.) If no previous RYA Instructor qualification is held, a moderation will need to take place on the fifth day.
Please Note: Our May Wingsurf/Wingfoil instructor course will run over two consecutive weekends. The first three days will be between the 3rd - 5th and the final two days will be on the 11th - 12th May.
Teaching within an RYA wingsuring scheme is progressive - you can develop your skills by taking further courses.

There is also an E-Book. Having access on your phone or tablet through the course would be ideal.
Pre-Requisites
- 16 years old
- RYA membership
- RYA Powerboat Level 2
- Valid First Aid certificate (A full list of certificates recognised by the RYA can be found here)
- Passport style photo if not already and RYA Instructor
Health Declaration
On successful completion of your course you will be asked to sign a health declaration stating that you are not suffering from any physical or mental impairment which has an adverse effect on your ability to properly discharge your duty of care as an instructor. If you are unable to sign the standard declaration, you will be required to complete a medical questionnaire.
Plas Menai will provide all necessary personal protective clothing including wetsuits, waterproofs, buoyancy aids and helmets.
